RCIA stands for the Rite of Christian Initiation of Adults and is a process of instructing those interested in becoming Catholic about the Catholic Faith in order that they may become members of the Catholic Church. It generally begins with a small gathering in late August. In September, those interested in learning more about the Catholic Faith will attend Holy Mass together followed by catechetical instruction for an extended period of time. The culmination of RCIA occurs on the Easter Vigil with the celebration of the Sacraments of Initiation.
