St. Patrick Catholic School has a cooperative agreement with the Parsons Public School System to provide a well-rounded athletic experience that includes golf.  Eligible 7th and 8th grade boys and girls may participate in the golf opportunities available through USD 503.  All practices and games follow Parsons Middle School schedules.

St. Patrick Catholic School is a member of the Middle School Mineral Belt League. Eligible 7th and 8th grade girls may try out to be a cheerleader for the winter basketball season. Tryouts will be held near the end of the school year for the upcoming year for girls pre-enrolled in 7th and 8th grades.

St. Patrick Catholic School is a member of the Middle School Mineral Belt League. We have a competitive scholastic season consisting of 4 regular meets and one scholastic bowl. Eligible 7th and 8th grade boys and girls may participate. The season begins in late February and ends in early April.

St. Patrick Catholic School participates in Little League Basketball along with several other elementary schools in southeast Kansas.  Little League offers 4th and 5th grade students the opportunity to participate in a full basketball season with preseason tournaments beginning in late November or early December and ending with a post-season tournament in late February or first of March.   Schools participating in Little League currently include:  St. Patrick Catholic School, Altamont, Oswego, Bartlett, Saint Paul, Edna, Erie, Mound Valley, and Meadow View.

SPCS has both boys and girls' teams for students in 4th and 5th grades.  SPCS, along with many other schools in the league, allow 3rd graders to play up with the 4th grade team if necessary for team formation.  Occasionally, 4th graders will play up with the 5th grade teams, as well. 

Jackie Gorman and Adam Myers are our Little League Representatives.  If you have any interest in participating in Little League basketball or have additional questions feel free to contact the office and we will guide you in the right direction.

St. Patrick Singers is open to any student 4th-8th grade that would like to sing for the student choir during weekend Mass, special events such as Christmas programs, Christmas Masses, Easter Masses, Graduations, etc.  Ms. Courtney Wilhoft leads this group and offers 2 sessions for signups, Winter & Spring.  If you would like more information, please contact Ms. Wilhoft at cwilhoft@stpatricksparsons.org.

Students in Parsons have the unique opportunity to begin learning a string instrument starting in 2nd grade.  As a beginning string player, students receive group instruction once a week during the school day.  All students grades 2-8 are invited to participate.  Orchestra gives students the opportunity to learn a musical instrument, build confidence, and learn teamwork skills at an early stage.  Instruments must be rented or purchased by the student’s guardian(s).
